School of Chemical Sciences

School of Chemical Sciences is a DST-FIST department under Mahatma Gandhi University, devoted to the development of all aspects of chemistry teaching and research in the region. Besides M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes encompassing all important and emerging branches of chemistry; the School offers four different masters programmes in organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry and polymer science. The fourth semester of our M. Sc. Programme is devoted to research training. Students have the freedom to carry out the research project either in the School or in any national institute/ research laboratory of their choice. The success rate of our students in national level tests NET/ GATE has been highly impressive.

All faculty members are involved in research activities in frontier areas of chemical sciences and have made significant contributions by way of research publications and patents. Several research projects funded by DST, CSIR, UGC, KSCSTE, BRNS, TWAS, ISRO, TIFAC, AICTE, Du Pont etc. are being carried out in the department.
